My approach is comprehensive.

  • A cow with brown and white markings resting on green grass in a field, with trees and hills in the background under a clear blue sky.

    Agroecological.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your On my own farm and in my consulting I combine agroecological and regenerative methods. Agroecology works to mimic the function of natural ecosystems in order to recreate their efficiency and abundance.  When we farm in a way that cycles nutrients, maximizes energy capture and maintains biological diversity as our neighboring ecosystems do, we increase our fertility, production and resilience.

  • A garden with rows of green plants growing in rich soil, with a fence and trees in the background.

    Regenerative.

Regenerative agriculture seeks to create systems that recharge lost fertility and natural resources while also producing a harvest.  It sounds aspirational, but many farmers are achieving these goals through crafting thoughtful systems that support healthy soils and a diversity of crops. Regenerative thinking also considers the economic and social systems that support farms and works to support wellness in our communities and our bank accounts.
